As long as I can remember, John Quincy Adams has been my favorite President, my favorite American… A life so full, a mind so sharp, and a pen so mighty are virtues of many of our founding fathers. But Q was also a Founding Son, as he learned his trade at his father’s side – President John Adams.

Later this week, former Governor Mitt Romney will give an address on faith an religion – though apparently not his own. I can’t help but hear the words of John Quincy Adams echo… especially given that Iowa and South Carolina’s voters are still very much in play.

The highest glory of the American Revolution was this: it connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity.
