Today is St Valentine’s Day, and love is in the air. It certainly is here. I’m taking a little break from the kitchen to write. I am cooking a Coq auVin for Becky and me and the Taittinger champagne has been chilling for a couple of hours.
It seems that Mitt Romney has also found some love for the John McCain campaign. Perhaps this will be known as the ‘Valentine’s Day Ticket.’ If they do run together, it will be an interesting marriage.
As reported by Lizzy, love is not in the air in the House of Representatives. I do have one comment to make. In the UK, the Speaker of the House of Commons is completely impartial. When they are elected, they leave their political party behind. Perhaps this is something the US should consider? It would certainly take away the shenanigans of Speaker Pelosi.
